Ingredients

2 ½ c flour

½ tsp salt

1 tsp baking soda

¼ c cocoa powder

¾ c sugar

¾ c packed brown sugar

2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp red gel food coloring

7 oz dark chocolate bars, rough chopped

flakey sea salt (optional)

Directions

Step 1

Add flour, salt, baking soda, and cocoa powder to a medium sized bowl and whisk until combined. Set aside.

Step 2

Add sugars and butter to a stand mixer and beat until creamy. Add in eggs, vanilla, and red food coloring and mix until combined.

¾ c packed brown sugar

2 sticks unsalted butter, softened

2 eggs

1 tsp vanilla extract

1 tbsp red gel food coloring

Step 3

Fold in dark chocolate chips.

7 oz dark chocolate bars, rough chopped

Step 4

Form dough balls using a 2 tbsp cookie scoop and place on a baking sheet. Chill the dough balls for at least 30 minutes.

Step 5

Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 6

(This step is optional). Once the dough balls are chilled, roll them in granulated sugar.

Step 7

Place dough balls on a cookie sheet and bake for 8-10 minutes. If desired, sprinkle with flakey sea salt. Enjoy!
