Ingredients
For the beefy filling:
1 pound ground beef
1 small onion, finely chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 teaspoon dried oregano
Salt and pepper to taste
1 cup marinara sauce
For assembling the sliders:
1 package (12 count) King's Hawaiian sweet rolls
12 slices of your favorite cheese (cheddar, Swiss, provolone, etc.)
¼ cup butter, melted
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard (optional)
1 tablespoon poppy seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
1 tablespoon dried minced onion (optional)
Directions
Step 1
Prepare the Beefy Filling: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef over medium heat until browned. Break it into small pieces as it cooks.
Step 2
Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onion is translucent.
Step 3
Season with dried oregano, salt, and pepper.
Step 4
Pour in the marinara sauce and let the mixture simmer for about 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
Step 5
Assemble the Sliders: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
Step 6
Using a serrated knife, carefully slice the King's Hawaiian rolls in half horizontally, keeping them connected as a sheet.
Step 7
Place the bottom half of the rolls in a baking dish.
Step 8
Layering: Spread the beefy filling evenly over the bottom half of the rolls.
Step 9
Lay the cheese slices over the beef mixture, covering it completely.
Step 10
Place the top half of the rolls over the cheese to create a sandwich.
Step 11
Top and Bake: In a small bowl, mix together the melted butter and Dijon mustard. Brush this mixture evenly over the top of the sliders.
Step 12
If desired, sprinkle poppy seeds, sesame seeds, and dried minced onion over the top for added flavor and texture.
Step 13
Baking: Cover the baking dish with aluminum foil and bake in the preheated oven for about 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and the sliders are heated through.
Step 14
Once done, remove the sliders from the oven and let them cool slightly before cutting them along the roll lines
Step 15
Serve the cheesy beefy slider sandwiches warm, and enjoy!
