6 tablespoons unsalted butter, softened
1 tablespoon finely chopped chives
1 teaspoon finely chopped thyme leaves
½ Juice and zest of lemon
1 teaspoon chili flakes (adjust to your preferred level of spiciness)
2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley
4 garlic cloves, minced
Salt and pepper to taste
½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon paprika
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

Step 1
For the Cowboy Butter
Step 1
In a small pan, melt the butter over low heat. Once melted, add the chopped chives, thyme, and lemon juice. Stir well to combine.

Add the chili flakes, fresh parsley, minced garlic, salt, and pepper to the pan. If you like some extra heat, add the cayenne pepper as well. Stir everything together and let it cook for a minute or two to infuse the flavors.

Mix in the paprika and lemon zest, stirring until the butter mixture is well combined and fragrant. Take the pan off the heat and let it cool slightly.
Step 4
For the Cowboy Butter Garlic Bread
Step 1
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
Step 2
Slice the loaf of bread horizontally.
Step 3
Spread a generous amount of the prepared cowboy butter mixture between each slice of the bread. Use a brush or spoon to coat the top of the loaf with the remaining butter mixture.
Step 4
Place the wrapped loaf on a baking sheet and bake the bread in the preheated oven for about 12 minutes, or until the bread is toasted and the butter mixture is melted and bubbly.

Once done, remove the bread from the oven and allow it to cool for a minute or two before serving.
