Ingredients
12 oz (340 g) pasta (penne, rigatoni, or rotini)
1 tbsp olive oil
½ lb (225 g) ground beef
½ lb (225 g) Italian sausage
½ cup pepperoni slices (or mini pepperoni)
8 slices bacon, chopped
1 small onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced
7 oz Green chiles
2 ½ cups pizza sauce (or marinara sauce)
1 tsp dried oregano
Kinders the blend seasoning
1 tsp onion powder
1 tsp garlic powder
1 - 2 tsp red pepper flakes
2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
Red pepper flakes (optional)
Fresh basil or parsley, chopped (for garnish)
Directions
Step 1
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside.
Step 2
In a large skillet, cook the chopped bacon over medium heat until crispy. Remove the bacon with a slotted spoon and set it aside on a paper towel to drain, leaving the bacon grease in the skillet.
Step 3
In the same skillet with the bacon grease, add the ground beef and Italian sausage. Break up the meat as it cooks and brown it until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if needed and set the meat aside. Make sure to reserve some meat for the top.
Step 4
Heat 1 tbsp of olive oil in the same skillet. Add the diced onion, garlic, and pepperoni slices. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened and the pepperoni starts to crisp.
Step 5
Add the browned beef and sausage back to the skillet. Add in green chiles then pour in the pizza sauce and stir everything together. Season with oregano, onion powder, kinders the blend and/or salt, and pepper, and simmer the mixture for 5-7 minutes to blend the flavors.
Step 6
Add the cooked pasta to the sauce mixture and stir well to ensure the pasta is coated with the sauce.
Step 7
Transfer the pasta mixture to an oven-safe baking dish (or leave it in the skillet if it’s oven-safe). Top with shredded mozzarella cheese and Parmesan cheese. Add on pepperoni , hamburger, sausage, and bacon.
Step 8
Place the dish under the broiler for 3-5 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly. Keep an eye on it to prevent burning.
Step 9
Remove from the oven and let it cool for a few minutes. Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and a pinch of red pepper flakes for extra heat, if desired.
