Ingredients

2 racks of ribs

Sweet seasoning

1 cup bbq sauce

¼ cup apple cider vinegar

¼ cup maple syrup

1 tbsp sweet seasoning

Directions

Step 1

Prepare the ribs by removing any excess fat and cutting off any hanging pieces. This will help the ribs cook evenly and prevent flare-ups on the grill.

Step 2

Season the ribs generously with the sweet seasoning, making sure to rub it into the meat. Allow the ribs to sit for about 10-15 minutes to allow the flavors to develop.

Step 3

Preheat the grill to 300°F. It is important to keep the temperature consistent throughout the cooking process, so make sure to regulate the heat as needed.

Step 4

Place the ribs on the grill, meat side up, and cover the grill. Let the ribs smoke for about 45 minutes to an hour. Check the temperature regularly to make sure it remains consistent.

Step 5

While the ribs are cooking, make the basting sauce. In a bowl, combine the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, and 1 tbsp sweet seasoning. Stir until well combined.

Step 6

After 3 hours, brush the basting sauce over the ribs and continue to smoke for another 30 minutes. Repeat the basting process every 15 minutes until the internal temperature of the ribs reaches 203°F.

Step 7

Once the ribs have reached 203°F, remove them from the grill and let them rest for 5-10 minutes. This will allow the meat to absorb the flavors and become more tender.

Step 8

Serve the Smoked Direct Heat BBQ Ribs with your favorite sides and enjoy!
