Ingredients

1 large onion

1 jalapeño

2 garlic cloves

Seasonings

1 ½ tablespoon chili powder

1 teaspoon salt, pepper, smoked paprika and cumin

1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

2 tablespoons molasses (or brown sugar)

Broth

1 ½ cups low sodium beef broth

24 oz can crushed tomato

14 oz diced tomato

1 tablespoon tomato paste

15 oz cans of pinto and kidney beans (drained and rinsed)

Protein

2 pounds 90/10% ground beef

Directions

Step 1

Start by dicing your whole onion, jalapeño and garlic cloves. Sauté on medium heat your ground beef. Once the meat starts to brown add in the veggies. Add your dry seasonings first(salt, pepper, chili powder, smoked paprika, cumin. Let meat fully cook (about 10 min)

Step 2

Once the meat is fully cooked and veggies are tender add in your crushed and diced tomatoes and tomato paste. Add in your wet seasonings (molasses, apple cider vinegar).

Step 3

Add your two cans of kidney and pinto beans (make sure they’re drained and rinsed). Salt to taste. Cover and let simmer on medium low for 30 min.

Step 4

Serve and enjoy!
