Ingredients
Lasagna Noodles
Prego Italian Blend
Prego Creamy Tomato Basil Blend
2 tbsp Tomato Paste
2 Cartons of Chicken Broth
8 - 10 Fresh Basil Leaves
5 - 6 Garlic Cloves
1 Yellow Onion
1 ½ lb Ground Italian Sausage (mild or spicy, your preference).
2 tbsp Olive Oil
handful of Parsley
1 bag of shredded mozzarella cheese
Ricotta to Top/Garnish
Seasonings 1.5 TBSP of Each
Garlic Powder
Orion Powder
Salt
Pepper
Italian Seasoning
2 Crushed Red Peppers ( TSP if you do not like spice)
Directions
Step 1
Start by prepping all of your ingredients, chopping your onion, garlic, basil, parsley.
Step 2
In a pan on medium to high heat, add in your olive oil and allow to heat for 2 minutes.
Step 3
After olive oil has heated, add in onion and garlic. Cook down for 2-3 minutes before adding in Italian sausage.
Step 4
Ground Italian sausage into bite size or smaller pieces. Once Italian sausage is mostly done, add 1/2 TBSP of each seasoning listed.
Step 5
Next, add in tomato paste and give a really nice mix.
Step 6
Add 1/2 of each prego jar, (I got the smaller ones) you will add in both cartons of chicken broth, and allow to cook for 5 minutes.
Step 7
Add in basil and parsley and cover for 2 minutes.
Step 8
Add in crushed lasagna noodles, and 1 Tbsp of each seasoning listed. Cover and cook for 8 minutes.
Step 9
Add in cheese and be sure to scrape the bottom of pan with this step to prevent cheese from melting at bottom.
Step 10
Serve with a scoop of ricotta cheese, and garnish with basil. Enjoy!
